The Pastoral Care Ministry at Church of the Holy Family consists of a range of spiritual and practical support for individuals and families our of parish.
We have a variety of duties mostly administered by our Pastoral Associate and Deacon including:
- visiting the sick and home bound
- administering sacraments such as the Anointing of the Sick and celebrating Holy Communion
- assisting families with funeral planning, click here for
We also offer other types of care and referrals.
- The Congregational Care Program is offered by the Pastoral Institute in Columbus Georgia and offers confidential faith embracing counseling behavioral health services to active parishioners.
- iThirst is a resource for those suffering from additions and their families. At the heart of iThirst is an understanding that there is a spiritual dimension to the disease of addiction that cannot be met by clinical professionals, but only by the spiritual consolation and guidance that the Church can provide. Deacon DeWayne Tillman runs our chapter of iThirst and is available

An important part of our pastoral care for parish members is providing access to the Pastoral Institute for confidential, clinical support with emotional or mental health issues such as grief, anxiety, depression, family conflict, anger management, and other life-stage challenges. This benefit is paid with
budgeted church funds each year, which have been nearly exhausted for 2026. To help stretch the budget, we are changing the way parish members schedule appointments with the PI.
Starting June 1, 2026, parishioners who would like to visit the Pastoral Institute for counseling will need to meet with the Pastor before starting counseling. After you meet with him, he will work with the PI on your behalf.
Your confidentiality will still be protected, but you will be asked to sign a limited release of information during your meeting with our Pastor to allow us to set up your appointment. The Pastoral Institute will follow up to schedule an appointment.
